Sleepy Head

It was a peaceful night at the Heimsoth household last night.....Maya slept all night long!! Hopefully, it wasn't a fluke and this is a good sign of nights to come. I even had to wake her to get ready for "school" this morning. The best part is, it was my night to get up with her. She is such a good girl :)

New World

Since it was over 70 degrees yesterday, Maya got to go outside for the first time at day care. They said that she really enjoyed the swing. And, I think it wore her out more than usual. She slept for an hour after I brought her home but still slept a little longer than normal before waking up in the middle of the night.

Looking forward to when this weather stays for good. It seems like all we do is sit around all cramped up in the house watching TV. At least now we have Maya to entertain us.

Attack of the Straw

Vinnie is over four years old now but there sure is still a lot of puppy in him. Every so often, he will see or hear something new and he will go nuts. Whether it be deer in the backyard, a possum and its 8 babies on the back porch, or even a squeaky straw--it's bound to get his attention.

Don't get me wrong, he has gotten lazier as he's gotten older. As I write this, he's sleeping at my feet. But, it doesn't take much to get him wound up if you want to. All you have to say is "Do you wanna ...?" followed by anything. It doesn't matter what you say after that. All he knows is that he is going to do something with you. Sometimes I'll say something of the sort just to tease him only to feel guilty after he jumps out of a dead sleep. So, I'll take him outside to play with his F-R-I-S-B-E-E. Oh, that's another word you cannot say around him.

No School!!

I feel like a kid again. Growing up during snow season, I always prayed that we would get enough snow to cancel school. Well, for the first time since I've worked in St. Louis, they canceled work. The funny thing was that I wasn't going to work anyway. Now I get a free paid day!! Woo who!!!

Anyway, Maya and I are going to chill out today at home. Lezlie still has to go to work. I think we've all caught a little something (again), but I think our immune system is getting better. Lezlie had a low fever on Wednesday and we've both been overly tired with a cough. But, baby Maya seems to always take it like a champ.

Maya is getting a little better at sleeping at night. We've been putting her to bed around 9pm. She wakes up once around 2am and then sleeps until we get up for work. But, every so often, she gets up at 5am. Those are the tough days. I always tell myself I should just go to work after feeding her, but I always seem to wonder back to bed.

If any of you know how to get her to sleep all night, let us know. I've been able to do it a couple times but only by letting her cry herself to sleep. Unfortunately, momma has vetoed that procedure. We'll see how long she lasts before caving in.
